CrossLinks is our collective ministry to children from birth to the sixth grade. Lisa Griner heads up this department. We offer a wide variety of worship services, teaching, classes, and special activities. Much of what is offered by CrossLinks is outlined below.
Sunday Morning Services
Sunday mornings offer a real sanctuary experience for the children. We begin with interactive praise and worship. All of the words to the songs are projected onto a screen so that even first-timers are included and able to fully participate. During our Bible lesson time, dynamic object lessons are implemented to communicate Biblical truths in a fresh, unforgettable manner. Interactive skits where the children become part of the lesson are another tool we use to make the Bible literally come alive to the children. Altar calls close each service and provide opportunities for each child to respond to the messages presented, receive prayer, and pray for others. Each element of these services is designed to promote spiritual growth and build Godly character. These services are fun, exciting, and spiritually enriching for every child! The CrossLinks service is for grades 1-6 and is held in the youth building. The Kingdom Kids service is for age 3 – Kindergarten and is held in the main building.
Wednesday Night Classes
Wednesday nights begin with high-energy group praise and worship. The the children are divided into groups based on grade level and gender. These groups are designed to encourage open discussions about real-life situations while learning the fundamentals of Christian living. Although each class is structured in an age-appropriate manner, each class’s learning time consists of a Bible lesson, an object lesson or hands-on project, interactive group conversation, and prayer. Each teacher has a heart for his or her group of students and ministers weekly with love and acceptance for each child’s unique personality. We invite your child to join us during this friendly time of group study. All Wednesday night classes are in session from 7 to 8:30 pm. The class divisions are as follows: Sonbeams (age 3 – K), Stars (girls grades 1-3), The King’s Daughters (girls grades 4-6), S.A.A.B. (boys grades 1-6).
Nursery
The nursery is for children from birth to age 2. It is available during our 10:45 am and 6 pm Sunday services and our 7 pm Wednesday services. We strive to make these babies’ first church experiences happy and exciting. Our volunteers play with the babies, read to them, and sing and dance along with them to Christian music. We want these babies to be just as excited to come to the nursery as we are that they are present!
Black Light Game Room
Open Sunday mornings from 10:30 – 11 am and Wednesday evenings from 6 – 7 pm and from 8:30 – 9 pm, the Black Light Game Room is exclusive for children in the 6th grade and younger. Come play video games, air hockey, or foosball or just chill under the black lights with friends. The game room provides age-appropriate entertainment in a supervised, safe environment. Children really enjoy having their own space at church!
Special Events
Lock-ins, camping trips, game days, kids’ nights out, and other special events are not unusual when it comes to CrossLinks. There’s always something special going on, so stay tuned to the church bulletin!
CrossLinks Production Company
We have a group for all those child performers! Professional props, costumes, and boundless creativity are combined to create an array of artistic expression. Children of all ages pool their talents and gifts under the skillful guidance of Pastor Lisa. The final production is as pleasant to enjoy as it is spiritually meaningful. Our seasonal musicals are always big hits with the adults as well as the children. If your child has a speaking or singing talent, don’t let it go unnoticed.
